Our candles are handmade in Cambridgeshire in small batches using natural soyabean (vegetable) wax which means they burn cleaner, for longer and have a fabulous scent throw when compared to paraffin candles. Although we use a natural wax, we infused our candles with fragrance oil so can't claim they are totally natural. However, we are working on an aromatheraphy range using essential oils ~ so keep your eyes peeled.
We currently offer a range of scented tin container candles that are wrapped in our signature heart and bow packaging. Available in two sizes: large that burn for up to 25 hours and use approximately 160g of wax and travel tins that burn for up to 12 hours and use approximately 85g of wax. You may notice that the wick 'mushrooms' which is a build up of carbon and generally happens in highly scented candles. In addition to this we make a range of tealights and wax melts that are made to order. We colour our tealights and wax melts and from time to time they may frost (feature white marbling) which is nothing to worry about, just a characteristic of soy wax.
How To Use Wax Melts
Wax melts are a great alternative to candles and are really simple to use. Place the wax melts in the top of an oil burner and light an unscented tealight below. As the wax melts the fragrance is released into the air. We recommend using a maximum of 30g in your burner to give up to 15 hours of fragrance. To remove the melted wax from the burner, allow it to cool completely and the place in the fridge for 20 minutes. The wax disc should pop out cleanly.
When light the candle for the first time allow it to burn so the the wax melts right to the edge of the tin ~ the rule of thumb is one hour for every inch of the tins diameter. So three hours for the large tins and two hours for the travel tins. This will avoid the candle tunneling and it will last longer.
We recommend trimming the wick to 1/4 inch. Keep the candle clear from any foreign materials and burn on a level, fire resistant surface away from drafts, vibrations, children and pets. If you notice anything unusual about the way your candle is burning extinguish it immediately.
